Print Free Business Cards

One of the easiest methods out there, and a great way to start getting those referrals. Follow the method below and you can get your hands on some free stuff as well!

The easiest method for getting referrals: manual advertising

Getting referrals for incentive sites such as Freebie Jeebies, Kudos and Xpango is very easy if you know what you’re doing. But what if you don’t? That’s where iMoose comes in! With this method for getting referrals you’ll have those refs flying in with very little effort.

Before we start I just thought I’d quickly say that that printing free business cards, along with printing posters and using stamps, is one of the easiest ways for getting referrals. Therefore it’s a great place to start if you’re having trouble getting refs.

Before we start

It’s very important before we start that you’ve made a website rather than just using your Freebie Jeebies referral link. You can find out how to do that by reading this guide on iMoose. Alternatively if you don’t want to do that you can use an iMoose URL Shortener. The reason for making a website or using the iMoose URL Shortener is simple:

  • Your Freebie Jeebies ref link looks spammy / people won’t trust it
  • Your Freebie Jeebies ref link is very long
  • You can’t get enough info on a business card, but you can have an unlimited amount of information on the web.

How the free business card method for freebie referrals works

  • The first thing you need to do is sign up to Vista Print and request your free business cards. The volume of free cards, or other free items they want to ship out, changes over time. However, from experience you’ll be getting around 250 of these bad boys, totally for free. The only thing you need to pay is the postage of £2.50.
  • You design you cards on the Vista Print website and they print them and ship them out to you as soon as they are done.
  • You then need to manually give them out to your friends, strangers, leave them in magazines, or hand them to customers leaving Apple stores, Game stores, or the similar. For more tips and info on where to stick your free business cards carry on reading! As they say location, location, location is everything.
  • Sit back and wait for the referrals to roll in.

Tips for getting referrals from free business cards

Use a QR code

QR codes are a great way to get users not only looking at your business card, but also to get them to either access you’re information on the web, or get them to save some sort of data, e.g. you’re website or contact email address, into their phone. This is another reason why it’s so important to have a made website rather than just using your Freebie Jeebies referral link. With a website you will not only look professional, but you can also set up a dedicated email e.g. admin@imoose.co.uk, to handle any contact you wish to have with your referrals. Try one of our codes below to see how they work and get an exclusive flyers video. You will need to have a QR reader app on your iPhone, Blackberry, or Smartphone. Simply search the appropriate app store. Browse: QR Readers for Blackberry, or QR Readers for iPhone.

Make sure you have a website

This has been said from the outset and it’s one of the most important things you can do. Having a website helps with conversions, stops your business card looking like spam, and ultimately increases the amount of cash in your pocket, and free Apple gifts on your desk! You don’t need to be a genius to build a website, simply follow our really simple “Create a Website” guide.

BAD business card, too wordy, uses ref link.

Think about where you’re going to put them

Now it’s worth noting that the information I’ve provided below is only meant to spark creativity and get your mind thinking about possible places to leave your free business cards. Make sure that you have permission, that what you do is legal, and that you’re not flyering without a license in places where you need one. That said, lets have a look at place you could possibly leave or hand out your free business cards.

  • Magazines: I’m not strictly up to date with how legal this is, but one possible option of places to leave your free business cards is in the center fold of various magazines which relate directly to your market audience. For example, in the UK we have a number of gadget and mens magazines, such as T3, Stuff, Maxim and Mens Health. The readers of these magazines will generally be the people interested in electronics and could provide a good source of referrals. Obviously the more free business cards you hand out the higher the chance of referrals, so make sure you sign up to Vista Print now and claim your free cards now.. Think if you hand out 1000 business cards and only 10% convert. You’ve got yourself £200 worth of free Apple products!
  • Hand them out in person: This one takes a little bit more confidence, but has a higher return. The basic idea is that you hang around outside a store which you know your target audience will be interested in, for example, an Apple store, or a computer gaming store, or HMV or similar. When people come up, approach them confidently and ask if they want a free Apple iPod and if they have 60 seconds spare. Repeat for an hour or so. If you only get two or three referrals out of it you’ve just earned up to £60 in an hour. Not bad!

  • Post them: You will need to look into the legality of posting flyers or business cards, but the idea is that you simply go around you’re neighbor hood posting these flyers or business cards. Try and aim for student areas, halls of residence, or similar areas. Again having a website is CRUCIAL for this method, as you don’t get an opportunity to talk them through the process.
